Mark 6:14-29

“Proclaiming The Truth Unto Death”

1. The people, and even King Herod, struggled to know the identity of Jesus. (v.14-16)

Application: Has God revealed to you the identity of His Son?

2. There were multiple consequences for John’s boldness in proclaiming the truth. (v.17-20)

Application: What are the consequences for your boldness, or lack thereof, in proclaiming the truth?

3. Because of Herod’s lack of sense and willingness to do what is right, Herodias’s evil desire for the beheading of John the Baptist, came to fruition. (v.21-29)

Application: Our obedience and faithfulness to proclaim, and live out, God’s Word, has a tremendous and eternal consequence for those around us.
