“The Sanctity of Marriage”

1. Marriage is a gift and work of God. (v.1-9)

2. God designed marriage from the beginning of creation to be between one man and one woman, whom He joins together to become one flesh. (v.6-9)

3. Those who separate what God has joined together through divorce, commit adultery if they marry another. (v.9-12)

Application:  

1. Because of the sanctity of marriage and the beautiful gospel that it displays, Christians should hold marriage to the holy standard that God holds it to. 

2. Christians should recognize and uphold God’s design for the institution of marriage alone so that our marriages proclaim and display the gospel to the world. 

3. Christians should not commit adultery through re-marriage, and if they have, should repent and confess their sin.
