Summer is rapidly coming to a close as school begins for most students this week. Please keep students, faculty and staff in your prayers. Schools are mission fields where Christians have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others on their campuses.

Through the generosity of the late Miss Vera Kneece a number of college students have received financial assistance to further their education.  The Vera Kneece Scholarship Fund has been in existence for twelve years and has distributed  approximately $ 60,000.00. Recipients for 2010 – 11 are Danielle Barrineau, Tori Davis, Kelley Dillon, Tyler Dillon, Lindsey McDaniel and Katy Van Nice. Congratulations to each of these.

We will be making a couple of changes to our regular schedule now that school has started. Our Sunday evening services will begin meeting at 6:30 PM on Sunday, September 5. Our plans are to keep this time throughout the year. Wednesday evening suppers will resume on Wednesday, September 8. The cost will remain the same - $4.50 for adults, $3.00 for children (preschoolers), with a family cap of $17. Take-outs will be available for shut-ins. Reservations for meals (eat-in and take-out) need to be made by 4 PM on Monday prior to the meal on Wednesday.

We are ordering new  bibles to replace the ones in the sanctuary. They will be the Holman Christian Standard Bible translation. If you would like to give a bible in memory or in honor of someone, please let the office know as soon as possible. We will place a note in the bibles with the names of the donor and those in whose memory/honor the bibles are given.

I hope to see you this Sunday, if not before.
